The motor is IP67 rated, meaning it is sealed against dust and can withstand temporary immersion in water — built for rough off-road and monsoon conditions in Laos.
The Kayo Alkaid eC2i charges from any standard 220 V outlet in Laos — no special charging station needed. A 110 V outlet also works (5.5 hours instead of 3). Most guesthouses, hotels and cafés in Vang Vieng have suitable outlets. Terra Lao Adventure provides charging guidance for longer routes including Vientiane and Luang Prabang.
For off-road and private property riding, no license is required. For public road use in Laos, a valid motorcycle driver's licence is recommended. Foreign visitors can typically use an international driving permit.
